About
Xavier Manrique (Barcelona, 1968) is a photographer whose work focuses primarily on landscape and nature through a contemplative approach. His practice centres on light, silence, and the fragility of form, developed through slow observation and a sustained relationship with the territory.
His work explores landscape as a perceptual and emotional space, moving away from descriptive representation towards a photography connected to memory, presence, and disappearance. His projects create atmospheres where time seems to slow down and where nature ceases to be a setting and becomes a living, changing presence.
Often articulated through series, diptychs, and photobooks, his work develops open and poetic visual narratives. Rather than describing a specific place, his images seek to create spaces of pause and contemplation, where the landscape becomes an inner experience and photography turns into a way of inhabiting time and the natural world.
